A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study was conducted to evaluate the effects ofXenicalon weight loss in obese subjects with an initial weight-lowering regimen with or without dailyor other weight loss agents (Orlistat, Saxenda, Xenical, and Orlistat XR).
The study was conducted between March 2006 and April 2010 at 2 centers (University of Washington, Seattle, Washington, and the University of California San Diego) in the United States (U. S. A.). All subjects received at least one weight-lowering regimen ofor other weight loss agents (Orlistat, Saxenda, Xenical, or Orlistat XR) every 12 weeks. The study was approved by the study site. The trial was conducted in compliance with thePatient Assistance Programprogram of the NIH, approved by the Institutional Review Board at the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington. This study was exempt from institutional review board review.
We conducted a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, double-dummy, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the effects ofor other weight loss agents (Orlistat, Saxenda, Xenical, or Orlistat XR) and other pharmacologic agents (Orlistat, Saxenda, Xenical, or Orlistat XR) alone. All participants received at least one weight-lowering regimen ofThe primary end point was change in body weight and the secondary end point was change in BMI, which was calculated using the modified-Uteric potato formula (MUP) and body weight (BW) as calculated by the investigator. The primary endpoint was the change in body weight and the secondary end point was the change in BMI. We assessed the proportion of subjects with a decrease in body weight or BMI from baseline to week 1 using the change from baseline to week 12. We also evaluated the proportion of subjects with an increase in BMI from baseline to week 12, but the change was not statistically significant. We used the change from baseline to week 12 for the primary endpoint, which was to be assessed in the final analysis.
The primary endpoint was change in weight and the secondary end point was change in BMI, which was calculated using the modified-Uteric potato formula (MUP) and body weight (BW) as calculated by the investigator. We assessed the proportion of subjects with a decrease in weight or BMI from baseline to week 1 using the change from baseline to week 12.
The mean ± SD BMI change in weight (kg/m2) from baseline to week 12 was 4.1 ± 1.6, and the mean ± SD BMI change in weight (kg/m2) from baseline to week 1 was 2.4 ± 0.4 kg/m2. The mean ± SD BMI change in weight (kg/m2) from baseline to week 12 was 3.8 ± 1.3 kg/m2 (95% confidence interval [CI], 3.2–3.8).
Xenical/Orlistat was associated with a significant increase in body weight and a decrease in BMI in obese subjects with an initial weight-lowering regimen with or without dailyor other weight loss agents (Orlistat, Saxenda, Xenical, or Orlistat XR). The results of the trial demonstrated thatwas associated with a significant increase in body weight and a decrease in BMI in obese subjects with an initial weight-lowering regimen with or without dailyor other weight loss agents. We also found thathad no effect on the change in weight or BMI in a group of obese subjects that received at least one weight-lowering regimen of
Carrying too much weight puts stress on your body which can lead to a variety of health issues.
By reducing the amount of fat cells in your body, you reduce the likelihood of getting very serious conditions such as heart disease, certain cancers, stroke, liver disease, type II diabetes, osteoarthritis and high blood pressure. Being overweight also affects the respiratory system, with side effects such as sleep apnoea and asthma.
If you are overweight or clinically obese then you may suffer from low self-esteem or lack self-confidence and therefore losing weight can help you to regain confidence, increase your self-esteem and lower the risk of depression. It also helps improve the ratio of good to bad cholesterol; reduce blood pressure and inhibit the progression to type II diabetes.
Weight loss can be a difficult and daunting prospect, however clinical studies have shown that those who use Xenical / Orlistat alongside dieting can achieve 50% more weight loss than dieting alone.

Dietary fats are large molecules that need to be broken down before they can be absorbed into the body. They are broken down by enzymes called lipases. That is, lipases play an important role in the digestion of dietary fat. When taken with a meal, Xenical interferes with the activity of these enzymes. This allows about 30% of the fat eaten in the meal to pass through the gut undigested. Therefore, your body cannot store these excess calories as fatty tissue or use them as a source of energy. This helps you to reduce your weight by burning up fat that you are already carrying, maintain your lower weight and minimise any weight regain. Losing even small amounts of weight and keeping it off produces additional health benefits for you, especially when you are at risk for other diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. Xenical can also help to improve risk factors, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high blood sugar. If these are not treated, they could lead to other diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. Xenical should be taken in conjunction with a well-balanced calorie-controlled diet and other appropriate measures such as exercise.Active Ingredients:Xenical does not contain sucrose, gluten, tartrazine or any other azo dyes.
